NBA Dallas Mavericks win over Phoenix On April 6, 2008 the Dallas Mavericks defeat the Phoenix Suns 105-98.
The Phoenix Suns hosted the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday April 6, 2008 at US Airways Center. The Suns lost 105-98 despite leading through much of the game. Despite their loss, the Suns clinched a playoff berth after Golden State and Denver both lost their respective games.
Reigning league Most Valuable Player Dirk Nowitzki, after only playing 3 games since coming off an injury, scored 32 points and helped the Mavericks comeback after trailing by 13-points in the fourth quarter. Josh Howard contributed 24 points and Brandon Bass 19.
The Suns were leading through most of the game with Amare Stoudemire having 31 points and Steve Nash contributing 14 points and 10 assists. Shaquille O'Neal had 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Suns. Suns coach Mike D'Antoni seemed puzzled by the loss as he said everything was going well throughout the game and for some reason the team just couldn't get back in it. The Suns have had their season-best 7 game home win streak broken.
With five games to play, the win brings Dallas two games ahead of Denver and Golden State in the Western Conference.
