NBA Phoenix vs the San Antonio Spurs April 9, 2008
The NBA Suns are set to face the Spurs on April 9, 2008. Both teams have clinched a playoff berth but still need to do well on this game. The Spurs are trying for top spot in the West while the Suns are vying for the home-court spot in the 1st round.
The NBA Phoenix Suns just finished a win over the Memphis Grizzlies on April 8, 2008 and are set to face the San Antonio Spurs on April 9, 2008. Shaquille O'Neal was on the sidelines during the Grizzlies game as a result of issues with his ailing hip but is likely to play on Wednesday April 9, 2008 against the Spurs. The Suns won 127-113 against the hapless Grizzlies as Amare Stoudemire contributed 28 points and 11 rebounds.
The Spurs have had an impressive record of lately having won 9 of their last 10 games and are not letting up eventhough they have clinched a playoff spot. The Spurs are currently one point behind leader New Orleans in the West but are only 1 1/2 games ahead of the 6th place Suns. The race in the West is very tight.
The team however has not been as impressive with their offense lately despite such stellar players as Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker in the lineup. The Spurs however are maintaining their impressive defensive play and in the last 11 games have held their opponents to just 86.1 points per game.
Many expects that despite both teams having clinched a playoff berth, the Suns - Spurs game should be very exciting as there is no sign either team is letting up during these last few games in the regular season.
